Skin is one of the largest organs in the body in surface area (about 20 sq. ft.) and weight (about 15% of body weight). Skin consists of two layers: the epidermis and the dermis. Beneath the dermis lies the hypodermis or subcutaneous.

Every layer of our skin is affected by airborne, waterborne, environmental, and toxic chemical pollutants. Also, increased UVA and UVB rays due to deterioration of the ozone layer above earth’s atmosphere. Normal functions of our skin are disrupted when sweat glands and ducts are bombarded with and absorb invasive particles that permeate into our dermal layers. Over me, with constant exposure, liquids, particles, and ultraviolet rays disrupt the three main functions of the skin. Irritations and serious health concerns like cancer can develop.

Proper skin care is a big part of protecting our overall health. Avoid cosmetic ingredients sourced from chemicals, synthetics, and petroleum to keep the skin barrier healthy.
